Eligibility

The contest is open to any journalist who has published print/on-line articles or radio/television reports related to corporate social responsibility on national and/or regional media in Chile.

Requirements

All formats are accepted: reports, profiles, interviews, news and in-depth articles, posts, radio clippings, etc. All entries must have been published on the press or on the Internet or must have been broadcast on radio or TV.

While assessing the journalistic pieces, the jury will focus on the following elements:

• Public interest. Selection and development of topics raising the interest of the public, of national and local authorities, social organizations or other committees.

• Quality of the research. Incorporation of elements that help to understand and to start the debate on the topics dealt with. Valid and reliable sources.

• Creativity. Use of graphic and journalistic elements that explain the contents through an engaging narration.

• Clarity of the content.

• Conceptual resources. Use of terms and concepts related to corporate social responsibility.

Entries must have been published between May 2012 and June 2013 (both months inclusive). Media organizations may present more than one applicant for the prize, but not more than ten. Each applicant can compete in only one of the four admitted categories: print, online, TV or radio.

Material

Entries must be submitted to the Prize office along with the “Enrollment form”, according to the following procedure:

Print entries: Entrants should send two PDF copies of the page in which the article was published. If the article appeared on the front page, they should also attach two copies of the front page. There is no limit to the number of lines or pages of the work submitted.

Online entries: Entrants should send a PDF copy of the web page on which the article and the name of the newspaper appear. The link to the article must be specified in the “Enrollment form”: if the link doesn’t work anymore, applicants should explain the reason why there is no direct link anymore. There is no limit to the number of lines of the work submitted.

Radio entries: Entries must be uploaded to the online “Enrollment form” or sent to the Prize office on a CD, a USB flash drive or any other storage device which allows the listening of the journalistic piece. There is no limit to the length of the work submitted: if the piece is on a radio format, applicants should send only three episodes or chapters. The piece must have been broadcast in the news at least once. Should the applicants not be able to provide a proof for this, they will have to produce a self-certification of the publisher or a statement of the director of the newspaper.

There is no limit to the length of the work submitted. The piece must have been broadcast in the news at least once. Should the applicants not be able to provide a proof for this, they will have to produce a self-certification of the publisher or a statement of the director of the newspaper.
